Round 2 News:

This marks the first year in which the lower seed won every playoff series. Joe looked like he was in trouble against Adam as he was losing the entire week, but big days from Roy Halladay and Brett Myers put him over the top on Sunday. Joe has been in the World Series every year he has been in the league. I think I'm starting to regret telling David his brother could join. On the other side of the bracket, Matt and Byron were tied most of the week, and this didn't change after Sunday. Since Matt had a better ERA at the end of the week he won the tie-breaker to knock off the top seed and head to his second World Series. This year's World Series match up is a rematch from the 2006 World Series, but Matt is hoping for a different outcome this time around. In 2006, however, Matt and Joe were the top two seed while this year they are the lowest two seeds.

In the battle for next year's 2nd pick, David embarrassed Stephen with the third 12-0 shutout of the year. There were very few close categories in the match up so I won't talk too much more about it at risk of hurting Stephen's feelings. Meanwhile, Justin and Tim fought to a 6-6 tie. The ERA tie-breaker came into play again and Tim came out on top with his 1.69 ERA. Tim will be going for the 2nd pick in the draft for the second year in row. We may have to give him the Tampa Bay Rays award, although that may be a good sign for Tim given the turnaround of the Rays this season. Good luck to everyone in the last week! Go Cubs!
